Is New Technology on your Wish List this Holiday Season?

With December here and the year coming to an end, most of us find ourselves answering those family group chats asking what you want for the holidays. If you’re anything like me, obviously technology is on the holiday wish list, not only for my personal life, but even more so for my professional life. If we take a step back and look at the business and technology advances that impacted your business this past year, you should be able to say that your business did make at least one or two major progressions through innovative technology. If not, have no fear, it’s never too late to begin thinking about adding technology to your Holiday wish list. But before we dive into that, let’s take a look at some of our technology predictions and the impact they will have on this year.

1: IOT Security Faults

With IOT rapidly influencing both personal and professional worlds, 2019 will bring a massive amount of more sophisticated security breaches on these connected devices. With IOT already being known for low-cost affordability, end-user data will be quickly exposed. We recommend gearing up and tightening security measures as it pertains to these IOT devices so you can secure your end-user data and be readily prepared for any IOT Security breach.

2: AI, ML & Automation

As Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Automation become more and more common, if businesses have yet to leverage these technologies they need to. In order to stay competitive and top of mind in 2019, businesses will need to understand and incorporate Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Automation into their long-term business strategies. Business must be forward thinking and embrace these available technology tools and resources to develop a strategy that will enable them to thrive.

3: Strategic Management Roles

With the expansion on digital strategic management roles, we anticipate 2019 holding one of the biggest challenges organizations will face. Being held accountable for providing data, metrics and more to their customers. Without the right technology tools in place, fulfilling this role will be strenuous and stressful and may potentially lead to loss in business.

We hope we can bring some guidance and help you realize the importance of including technology in your business in the New Year. We at CHIPS make it our priority to always stay current with technology and business trends to further discuss with our clients how they can create and implement strategies to better understand the digital world. We would like to thank all of our clients for another successful. Happy Holidays to all and we’ll see you in 2019!
